Dressing like a nice guy is pretty basic, its one part boring to two parts non threatening, lets look closer.

a blue polo shirt is excellent for something like this, the blue color comes off as very non threatening

Khaki pants are also good and boring, sort of like the layman pants

How to dress like a boring person

Dressing like a boring person is actually trickier then you would think, we first need to look at the two most common article's of clothing in the western world, the blue jean and the white t shirt

How to dress like the man in the yellow hat

The man in the yellow hat is a very distinctive and recognizable outfit, this outfit is considerably more complicated then previous outfits, lets take a look at its components

Yellow button up shirt
The man in the yellow hats clothes are very bright, and stand out, you might notice that most dress shirt and materials that have the color yellow are so thin that you can see through the material making the yellow color seem muted.



This is honestly the closest thing i found to the shirt of the man in the yellow hat, it's just the right color and has the right thickness.


Bright yellow cargo pants

I noticed that the man in the yellow hat is an explorer, and in one of his picture's he is wearing cargo pants, ultimately i think that suit and explains the character




The yellow tie with black dots


Polka dots can create a problem, we can see the curious George books and we can see the tie and the certain number of polka dots, its size and shape, how many there are, its contrast, where as the reality might turn out different.

Brown knee high leather combat boots ( Ranger boots )
These bad boys are romanticized with an earlier time of exploration, and these are roughly what the man in the yellow hat would wear




The hat,
You don't need a genius to tell you that the hat would be the hardest part of this outfit, and simply put, they just don't make high quality yellow hats unless it's a special order, but here is what i can tell you

The hat is not a consistent shape, my best guess is that the hat is either

A yellow Boss of the plains hat

 

or a yellow campaign hat, ( drill sargent hat )




Either way the stripe in the hat is a stark contrast of black, while the rest of the hat is yellow

Black leather belt



Notice that the color of the belt, is the same as the color of the stripe on the yellow hat


A word of advice, the man in the yellow hat outfit is a color coordinated outfit that means that the pants the tie, the shirt, and the hat, all have to be the exact same shade of yellow or the outfit won't work.

also note that the man in the yellow hat tucks his shirt in, to show the matching belt and hat stripe, and also notice that he tucks his pants into his boots at the knee high length

Like the cowboy, the mean biker is another spirit of america, and like the cowboy, it has a certain way it dresses,



The first and most important feature of the american biker is the black leather jacket













This jacket as seen in many films, is the distinctive biker jacket,
















notice above, that on the sides under the armpits are strings, designed to adjust the width and roomy space in the jacket, more or less for weight fluctuation.

Black jeans are most commonly worn by bikers, other legging garments include

Bikers wear leather pants for it's protective qualities, such as if you were to fall of a bike, and slide on the pavement, leather pants would protect you more then jeans. The trade off is that leather tend's to overheat, and get uncomfortable.

Biker Boots

Biker boots really fall between two different boots, the harness boot, and the engineer boot,

The harness boot was designed with a flat toe, the reason for this was so when bikers put there foot down to skid or break, the toe of there boot wouldn't snap off like it did with round toe boots

These boots are very popular for its look, i honestly don't know how they hold up as a riding boot.

The sunglasses

im just going to say it, the glasses from terminator 2 ( "Ratti" from Persol model 58230 ) are probably the greatest pair of biker sunglasses i have ever seen, so im just going to put them here.

Finally there is the bandanna

This is one thing i noticed bikers and cowboys have in common, they both wear or use bandanna's,
